I am so excited to be your teacher this year, and I look forward to having fun while learning math! A little about myself:
I was born and raised in Georgia, and I am originally from the metro-Atlanta area
I am an alumna of the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) where I received my B.S./B.S.Ed. in Mathematics/Mathematics Education and my M.Ed. in Mathematics Education.
I am also a doctoral candidate at Georgia State University pursuing my Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Mathematics Education.
I am a mentor for Students Organized Against Racism (S.O.A.R.) and a member of our Equity Team.
I am a huge Atlanta Sports Fan (Braves, Falcons, Atlanta United, and Hawks) and UGA fan! Also through my boyfriend, I am a Detroit Sports Fan (Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons, and Lions) and Michigan State Football/Basketball fan!
I like to incorporate real-life scenarios, current issues, social (in)justice, culture, and technology when I teach
In my free time I enjoy going to local Atlanta events, exploring new places in and around Atlanta, trying new restaurants, traveling to new cities, and visiting my friends, family, and boyfriend who live across the country!
I look forward to learning more about you all this year and growing together to become better mathematicians and better people!
